Bleach Spot Repair Springfield VA — Certified Color Restoration Since 2017
Professional carpet dyeing and bleach spot repair for nylon, wool, and polyester carpet throughout Springfield, Burke, Fairfax, Alexandria, Lorton, and Woodbridge. We restore the color bleach removed — permanently — using custom-mixed dyes and precision color matching. A fraction of the cost of carpet replacement.

A Bleach Spot Is Not a Stain — And It Can't Be Cleaned Away
The Problem
- Most cleaners don't offer bleach spot repair — they'll tell you the damage is permanent and the carpet needs replacing.
- Generic dye kits from hardware stores use one-size-fits-all color that rarely matches your carpet's exact tone and fiber type.
- Untreated bleach spots spread over time as foot traffic works the damaged fibers further into the pile.
The TCS Difference
- Matthew has held carpet dyeing certification since 2017 — color restoration is a core service, not an afterthought.
- We mix dye on-site to match your exact fiber, pile, and tone — tested on a hidden area before touching the damaged spot.
- Results are permanent and colorfast — walk-on ready immediately, holds up to normal traffic and cleaning.
Every bleach spot repair is backed by our Total Precision Guarantee and nearly a decade of certified color restoration experience. We don't leave until the repair meets our standard and yours.
Our Process — Step by Step
Step 1 — On-Site Estimate & Fiber Assessment
We visit your home to assess the bleach spot in person before any repair is scheduled. This allows us to evaluate the size and severity of the color loss, identify the carpet fiber type, and determine whether the repair is achievable and what it will involve. Not all bleach spots are the same — a mild yellow discoloration requires a different approach than a spot where all three primary colors have been fully stripped. We provide an accurate quote based on what we see, and you receive it and can book the repair appointment with a $100 deposit to secure your visit.
Step 2 — Bleach Neutralization
Before any dye is applied, we neutralize any remaining bleach activity in the carpet fiber. This step is non-negotiable — active bleach will continue stripping color and will prevent new dye from bonding correctly to the fiber. Skipping neutralization is one of the most common reasons DIY bleach spot repair attempts fail or make the spot worse. We use a professional-grade neutralizer to stop the chemical reaction completely before we begin color work.
Step 3 — Color Analysis & Custom Dye Mixing
We analyze the surrounding undamaged carpet to determine which colors are present and which have been stripped by the bleach. Bleach removes the primary colors in a predictable sequence — blue first, then red, then yellow — so depending on the severity of the damage, we may need to restore one, two, or all three primary colors. We mix a custom dye formula on-site to match the target color as precisely as possible. Dyes are always mixed fresh for each job — pre-mixed or one-size-fits-all dyes cannot match the thousands of carpet color variations found in real homes.
Step 4 — Precision Dye Application & Blending
We apply the custom dye formula to the affected area in controlled layers, blending outward into the surrounding carpet fibers to create a seamless transition. For nylon and wool carpet, professional acid dyes bond permanently to the fiber. For polyester carpet, we use a heat-set dye process that bonds the color through controlled heat application after the dye is applied. Multiple layers may be applied as needed until the color matches the surrounding carpet as closely as possible. Our goal on every repair is a result that blends naturally from a normal viewing distance.
Step 5 — Grooming, Final Inspection & Walkthrough
We groom the repaired area to ensure the fibers sit correctly and the repair blends naturally with the surrounding carpet pile. We then inspect the repair under different lighting angles to confirm the color match before conducting a final walkthrough with you. The repaired area can be walked on immediately — our dyes are permanent, colorfast, and safe. We don't consider the job complete until the repair meets our standard and yours.
Why Choose Total Cleaning Service
Certified Since 2017 — Not a Side Service
Carpet dyeing and color restoration is a specialty certification most cleaners don't hold. Matthew has been certified since 2017 and has completed hundreds of bleach spot repairs across Northern Virginia — this is a core service, not an upsell.
Custom Dye Mixed On-Site
There's no universal carpet color. We mix dye on-site to match your exact fiber, pile, and tone — then test on a hidden area before touching the damaged spot. The result blends in permanently.
Permanent, Colorfast Results
Our repairs are colorfast and walk-on ready immediately after service. No waiting, no peeling, no fading — the restored area holds up to normal traffic and cleaning the same as the surrounding carpet.

What Customers Are Saying
"Thanks to all the other reviews on here. They're what led me to Matthew in the first place, and I agree- he is amazing, friendly and very professional. He wore booties inside to my wife's delight. Made friends with our dog. And when he found out the work needed bleach, even stepped out to the nearby 7-11 to get some. Wow. Customer service through the roof! I know a picture is worth a thousand words, so here is the stain before and after. Apologies for the delay in posting this, wanted to give it some time to dry. Thank you so much good sir. You know how much this meant to my family. Now we can move on in peace. Best in this line of work and I'll sing you praises for as long as I have to. Please choose him, you won't regret it!"
